Overdraft Coverage: Protect Your Privilege—Don't Be Declined

Overdraft Protection

With ProFed's Overdraft Privilege^sm service, ProFed protects you by paying overdrafts on your checking account, whether the overdraft occurs in a paper check transaction, regular electronic (ACH) withdrawal, ATM withdrawal or Visa Checking Card transaction.

We also offer overdraft protection plans, such as a link to a savings account, which are separate from Overdraft Privilege.^sm To learn more, ask us about these plans.

Don't Be Declined

New federal regulations for overdraft protection become effective on August 15, 2010. This means that ProFed will no longer be able to pay overdrafts for ATM and Visa Checking Card transactions unless you choose this service.

The regulations will allow you to continue using Overdraft Privilege^sm for other checking account transactions, such as paper checks and regular electronic (ACH) withdrawals. However, since ATM and Visa Checking Card transactions are not covered, your purchase could be declined by a merchant, or you could be declined for cash withdrawals at an ATM.

Protecting Your Privilege

Here is how you can tell us that you want ProFed to pay overdrafts on your ATM withdrawals or Visa Checking Card transactions under the Overdraft Privilege^sm service as of August 15, 2010:

• Print and complete the Opt-In Form (a PDF will open in a new window) and mail it to the address on the form, or bring it to any ProFed branch;
• Complete the Opt-In Form at any ProFed branch; or
• Login to ProFed Online Banking, www.profedcu.org, and submit your form electronically. 
• Call us at 260-483-0514 ext. 12, or 800-752-4613 ext. 12.

Overdraft Privilege^sm Fees: You will be charged up to $25 each time ProFed pays an overdraft for any transaction covered by Overdraft Privilege.^sm There is no limit to the total fees we can charge you for overdrawing your account.
